The LA Judge Award |
|
The LA Judge Award is an annual baking industry event that offers a prestigious baking industry award. Australian and New Zealand Baking Associations have the opportunity to nominate a competitor. These young bakers compete for the honour of winning the LA Judge Award. Each competitor is evaluated on their practical baking skills, technical knowledge and communication abilities during the three days of rigorous competition. The LA Judge Award is one of the Australia's longest running honours, having been initiated in 1968. The prestigious LA Judge Award for Baking Apprentice of the Year is contested annually at BRI Research by baking apprentices from each Australian State and Territory and from New Zealand. Contestants spend 2½ days at BRI Research where they undergo rigorous testing of the theory and practice of bread baking and of their presentation and communication skills. The LA Judge competition encourages excellence in the industry, with many past winners now holding senior positions in industry.
