New Zealand Bakery of the Year™2010
- The competition is the Baking Industry Association of New Zealand (BIANZ) New Zealand Bakery of the Year ™2010.
- Registration of entries is open to all bakeries, not solely to members of the BIANZ organisation.
This includes bakeries, franchise bakeries, craft bakeries, in-store bakeries or cafés/café-bakeries.
- A current email address for the bakery or a bakery contact must be provided on entry forms for the entry to be valid.
- Registration of entries is open from 1 - 30 May 2010.
- The competition is executed on behalf of the BIANZ, a membership organization whose
mandate is to support and promote the baking industry in New Zealand.
- Registration of bakeries will be through entry forms in Slice magazine and online here. Bakeries can mail the registration form to the address specified, or complete the registration form online.
- The competition has 3 categories: cake, pastry and bread. Bakeries can enter as many sections per category as they wish. Only one entry per section is allowed. The category winners are determined by the highest score awarded for any section within the category.
- Product specifications for all eligible sections in each of the three categories must be strictly adhered to. Judging will be based upon these criteria. The product specifications and judging criteria will be posted online, and can be emailed or posted on request.

In no circumstances will the points from judges be published or otherwise disclosed to the entrants.
- Expert bakery judges will determine the winners. The judging panel includes a Chief Judge and an Auditor. Category winners will be awarded based on judging points in each section of each category of cake, pastry and bread.
- Each entrant will receive a letter that includes a unique competition entrant code number that will be used for confidential judging purposes. This code must be included with the entered product. The bakery name should not be included with the entered product. Entrants must supply their own packaging for transporting entries to the competition venue. The entrant is responsible for the cost of transporting entries to the competition venue.
- Prizes will be a trophy and/or medal, a Rondo Ecomat dough sheeter, list Price $14,499, sponsored by Burns & Ferrall, a window decal and 20 000 printed pie bags. Assistance with publicity will be provided if the competition is picked up by main news media. Sheeter comes with 1 year parts and labour Warranty. Sheeter must be installed by a Burns& Ferrall Technician or authorized agent for Warranty to be valid. Freight and installation not included in Prize. Burns and Ferrall reserve the right to use any names and photos for future Marketing material.
- Trophies are to be returned to BIANZ 6 weeks prior to the next awards for the following year’s competition.
- The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
