Changes to the Holidays Act

Recent changes to the Holidays Act mean that existing BIANZ employment agreements supplied to BIANZ members are no longer accurate in that they state employees are entitled to 3 weeks annual leave, rather than 4.

In theory, existing employment agreements do not need to be changed as the Holidays Act will simply amend the provision. You may however elect to notify your employees of this change. BIANZ has a draft memo available to members to give to existing employees.

 

All new individual employment agreements should, from 1 April 2007, show an entitlement to 4 weeks. BIANZ has an updated agreement with this change included, available to members.
