Public holidays are generally celebrated on the day they fall. However where the employer and employee agree in writing to transfer the observance of the public holiday to another working day and where Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and 2nd of January either fall on a Saturday or Sunday, the pubic holiday is transferred to another day.
